I know exactly what day it is.
What date it is and also what time it is...
But I intentionally don't want to think about it and stubbornly ignore the fact that I have to leave the ocean and everything else behind soon.
I could never have dreamed of staying here for so long.
I could never have imagined that I would end up stranded here.
These last 2 weeks on Koh Chang (which actually marks the grand finale of my 8-week journey) have had such an impact on me.
And I'm having a hard time letting go of it all and adjusting to Germany.
Really.
No joke. :D
How am I supposed to do that?
With freezing temperatures and jet lag and grumpy people and crowded trains and everything... :(
'Everything has an end, only the sausage has two'..., they say... well... in some song...
Yesterday I got up early and hopped on my Honda to drive around the island one last time.
Before that, we said goodbye to Johanna & Lena.
It was nice, girls!!
Johanna: remember the plan! :)
------------------------------------
Hardly anyone was out so early.
The island was still asleep.
Just me & my baby.
I went all the way to the end of the island and saw more than on any of my previous scooter rides.
Probably because I was alone.
I didn't have to adapt to anyone.
I could drive as fast or as slow as I wanted and stop wherever I found it beautiful.
Sometimes the roads and paths were so narrow that I inevitably had to touch the bushes and trees on the edge. Or they touched me.
Sometimes on my calves.
Sometimes on my arms.
Occasionally I had to duck.
My wide smile during the ride was like it was carved in stone.
I think that's what I will miss the most. Driving everywhere on the scooter.
Freedom!
-------------------------------------------
At one of the remote beaches, I met a Thai guy who waved to me from the side of the road, signaling me to continue down a winding path... And I guessed right.
Behind it was a beach.
Hidden behind palm trees.
5 minutes later, the man came up to me and, as a German, you think of nothing good.
So in my head I was like:
'Fuck. Nobody will find me here.'
He said hello. And smiled.
💭I thought: 'A nice killer'
I watched his every move closely.
Then when he started spreading palm leaves on the ground:
'Shit. He's going to display my dead body.'
A minute later, he gestured for me to sit on his 'palm bed'.
'Should I actually do it or better not!?'
Well. What do you think?
Did I do it? ;)
Write it in the comments!
N-O-W!
😎😇
-----------------------------------------
I've never been a big fan of reason.
Of course, I didn't refuse his friendly 'invitation'. ;D
I sat down at a suitable distance from him.
And we talked for a few minutes.
With hands and feet.
He actually didn't speak a single word of English.
And I (except for some polite phrases) don't speak Thai.
But somehow it worked.
He was really nice and I almost felt guilty that I initially mistrusted him.
As I said: almost. :))
A little while later, I said goodbye and continued driving.
I actually drove all the way down the road until it eventually ended.
Past people who looked like they rarely saw tourists.
Vivi the attraction. ;)
But it's probably true.
There was really nothing there.
No beach nearby.
No temple.
No shop.
Just the simple houses of the Thai people and their residents going about their business in front of them.
When the road ended, I slowly turned around and drove the whole way back towards Lisa.
I was on the road for a total of 5 hours and drove about 200 kilometers during that time.
I spent about an hour with Lisa before the scooter called me again.
I saw another beautiful sunset and afterwards I finally had an encounter with my favorite animals again.
Yeah. You know. 🐒
Suddenly they were sitting in front of me on the road.
I had the feeling that they weren't quite so 'tame', so I initially stayed at a safe distance.
But eventually, I did cross the road.
And now pay attention:
There was a guy.
Yes, maybe some of you can guess.... Of course... He was a Chinese guy...
This Chinese guy stood right in front of a male monkey and just stared at him.
Then the idiot tries to touch the monkey.
The animal obviously didn't like that.
The whole posture, facial expression, gestures of the monkey screamed:
'Hey, don't get too close to me, man.'
And what does the fat Chinese guy do?
Exactly.
What you do then...
You copy that threatening gesture and try to 'defeat' the monkey.
People are so dumb.
Honestly.
Anyway, the monkey got really angry.
He wanted to attack him.
Showed his teeth.
And since the guy was faster than his appearance suggested and in the end I was the only one nearby, the little animal wanted to take out its frustration on ME...
It's really amazing how quickly the atmosphere changed...
Luckily, he only scratched me lightly... I think you've never seen me jump on a scooter and drive away so quickly. 💥💨
(I can imagine your face so well right now, Puschi :D )
Well.______________________
That was basically it for yesterday.
After 6 hours of sleep, I got up at 7 today, quickly took a shower, and started putting my plan into action.
The plan was to ride the scooter all morning and wake up Lisa around 10:30-11 to go shopping with her.
I left here at 8.
In the meantime, I searched for a long time for a 7Eleven that has the delicious chocolate toasts on sale.
They make them warm there and they are sooo delicious.
Do you know the HOT BROWNIES from Burger King?
Yes? - They taste exactly like that.
No? - Then definitely try them!!
Anyway, I snacked on them at White Sand Beach.
Combined with a caffeinated cold drink.
Original pitch black.
..................................
Due to the time of day, I had the otherwise very crowded beach almost all to myself.
I stayed for about an hour before I was drawn back to Lisa.
We only went to one store.
It was somehow a mix of McGeiz, kik, and hardware store.
Really interesting.
We met Fuchur beforehand.
Our very own island lucky dragon.
Oh well.. Shoutout to Johanna.
Look what we spotted.
Wouldn't that be something!? ;)

Afterwards, Lisa and I went our separate ways again.
I went to the Rastabar, which offers an incredible view, treated myself to a watermelon shake, and enjoyed the last afternoon with good music in my ears... 🎶
In the evening, we went out to dinner together.
Typically local, of course. ;)
And since then, I've been hanging out in the bungalow.
Thanks for reading! Goodbye.
PS:
Yes, Maya.
That's how it feels to be happy.
