Tortuguero, Caribbean coast

From San José, you can continue to Tortuguero on the Caribbean coast by bus without a car. The last stretch to the town must be covered by boat (or plane). The name means 'place where the turtles come'. In fact, various turtle species lay their eggs on the beaches of Tortuguero and bury them.
