Day 14 - Hollywood Sign & Monterey

Hello there,

This morning we went to the Hollywood Sign as planned, or to one of the many spots where you can take a nice photo. Here is the result :-) 

Afterwards, we headed to Monterey with 1-2 small stops along the way. We just had some food at the harbor. It's really a smaller, cozy town where you can find everything. Shops, a shopping center, beach, harbor, a beach promenade, and plenty of restaurants. Tomorrow, we will explore everything here in more detail and then continue towards the airport, where we will start our journey back home the day after tomorrow. 

Since we are not familiar with SFO airport and the handling process (and also to avoid unforeseen things like traffic jams, accidents, and car breakdowns), we decided to spend the last night in the immediate vicinity of the airport. It's about another 2.5 hours from here. Tomorrow in the late afternoon, we will start our way there. 

Well.. the blogs are getting shorter again and the nice time is coming to an end soon. Looking back, it went by really fast... when I think of the big trees in Yosemite, or the Death Valley and Las Vegas... it feels like it was just 3 days ago...

Oh, and yes.. almost forgot. On the way back from the Hollywood Sign, we encountered a real tidal wave... we saw the reason a few meters further up - a burst hydrant. It's amazing the tremendous pressure behind it and the amount of water that can be created in a short time. The fountain was at least 10m high.
