Then I continued south to Nha Trang by sleeping bus. Another approximately 12-hour night bus ride. I arrived very early in the morning in the big city. I didn't actually want to stop there, but the other cities seemed too far away and I didn't feel like taking even longer bus rides. I arrived very early, shortly after five o'clock in the morning, it was still semi-dark, and since my hostel was not far away, I walked there. Huge hotels everywhere. Like a holiday resort for package tourists. Luckily, I had only booked one night there. When I arrived, the sleepy hotel owner let me in, but I couldn't check in yet, so I made myself comfortable on a couch on the rooftop terrace. Since I could only check in in the afternoon, I went on a snorkeling tour. We visited three spots, which would have been quite nice if there hadn't been so much plastic floating around. That was really a bit sad. :-( There is an island there with an amusement park on it... vinpearl... from a distance it looked a bit like Disneyland... you can take cable cars there.
Since I was quite exhausted afterwards, I went to bed early... I strolled around a bit, courageously crossed streets, ate pho soup and got a massage. I was approached in Russian everywhere. Most of the tourists here were also Russians. One massage salon next to the other and the employees standing in front of the door, trying to attract passers-by with discounts... that reminded me a bit of the tourist areas in Thailand.
Then I extended my stay for one more night to have a day where I could just lazily lie on the beach in the sun. The beach there is so long that I could find a quiet spot for myself despite the tourists. In the evening, I went to the hairdresser. Trimming the ends... not a good idea if you don't speak the same language. There was a misunderstanding and the hairdresser cut my hair with thinning scissors... until a second hairdresser finally understood what I wanted. Now my hair is very, very thin... well, at least it was very, very cheap...
