Saturday, September 28, 2019: Heileberget

Жарыяланган: 30.09.2019

After the weather was very nice both during the week and on the weekend, we decided to go for a hike again on Saturday.

At 12 o'clock we cycled together with Ole Bjarne over the well-known bridge. That was the first time I rode over the bridge. Before that, I had only gone underneath it by boat. From there, we continued along the fjord. The official hiking trails here are better footpaths, some of which are still secured. So we literally had to go over hills and stones.

Heilebergen, partially also called Fløyen, is the mountain that looks like a wall from Dale. You have probably already seen it in the previous photos.

But we didn't go on the summit ridge, instead we followed a different line that was oriented towards the tree line and was easy to follow due to the power pylons.

Halfway there, we found an old cabin that was already half fallen apart. We were very fascinated by it and tried to find out when it was built. We found many carvings by hikers from the year 1987, but ultimately somewhere it said that it was built in 1948. Inside, we found a small hallway with various kitchen utensils, on a juice bottle we found the expiration date May 22, 2001.

A little further away, we found the ruins of a sheepfold that was idyllically covered with moss.

Our hike ended at a small rest area, which consisted only of a few rocks that provided enough space for a picnic blanket. From there, we had a fantastic view over Dale, as we were exactly opposite the town. We also spotted seven eagles at once, playing together. So we spent half an hour watching the eagles. With Ole Bjarne's binoculars, we could observe them up close, but we could also follow a soccer game that was taking place in Dale. Stalking on a different level :)

In the evening, we were invited to a small party/get-together where we got a taste of Norwegian music. So they really don't get enough light here! :)
