Addo Elephant Park

The Addo Elephant Park was established in 1931 to preserve the last 11 wild elephants from extinction. The population has since grown to 600 animals.
Unlike other elephants in South Africa, female elephants in Addo do not have tusks!
On the safari in the park, we were able to see kudus, zebras, elephants, ostriches, meerkats, wildebeest, and warthogs up close! However, the highlights were the hyenas, which were eating the remains of a kudu, and two lionesses, which were taking a lunch break right next to the road.
We spent the night in the middle of the national park, surrounded by the sounds of nature!
In the middle of the night, a lion expressed its discontent with its roar, and a hyena made its typical sound.
Around the camp, we were able to observe the famous dung beetles at work and admire large spiders and other curious insects.
