Bear cave near Rodalben

we are on the go

If we are already planning a hiking weekend for Pentecost, then it should be varied. We did it.

Enjoying the Tuniberg relaxed on Saturday, resting on Sunday and then something demanding on Monday. And because the Palatinate is not so far away, we took the article from the newspaper and laced up our hiking shoes.

There was also fantastic hiking weather. Many shady paths and not so many meters of altitude. This hiking destination also attracted many other people - with dogs, strollers, and little ones - as well as mountain bikers. On the sometimes very narrow paths, it was certainly a challenge for all people who wanted to tackle this tour. The Palatinate Forest often appears like a magic forest - everything can stay as it has been shaped by storms and water.

Unfortunately, the targeted Bear Cave was a bit water-poor. I would have liked to stand behind the waterfall and view the world through a veil of water. It didn't work out - it was also very beautiful in the large cave. For children, it is definitely a dream adventure.

We were on the go for three hours, were able to enjoy many beautiful views, and were well oriented thanks to the signage ('F' = rocky trail). Unfortunately, the hiking app had no reception. Almost at the end of this hike, there is the Dekan-Martin-Ehling-Hütte. There, you could have a snack or a picnic. However, since it was at the end of our hike, we didn't have anything exciting left in our backpack.

Shortly after, we were already back at the parking lot. This tour is worth it. However, I would make sure that there has not been any rain for a few days; otherwise, it could get quite slippery on the narrow paths over tree roots and rocks. We enjoyed the round.

See you soon
