From today it's really getting started! Already survived the first (half) day in Australia...after a laborious search for beer. But let's start from the beginning.
After the 6.5 hour flight (from Singerpur to Cairns), which we survived on a Boing 737 (which should have been retired 20 years ago), the 11 hour flight before that (from Munich to Singapore) almost felt like relaxation. Arriving at Cairns Airport, we were greeted by a friendly (here everyone feels super relaxed and mega friendly) customs officer. She even offered me a job...I'm still thinking about it...! Unfortunately, the customs clearance of Hansi's 4 packs of cigarettes turned out to be more expensive than expected. But since we all know how super nice and friendly everyone is here, it's probably not surprising that we received an unbeatable offer from the nice customs officer: 'Throw away 2 packs and take the others duty-free.' He kindly 'disposed' of the excess for us.
We ate at 'RATTLE N HUM' where you can also start a small beer tasting if you're overwhelmed by the selection of Australian beers.
Let's see what awaits us tomorrow :) (Local time 10:59 PM: g'night mate) By the way, there are more pictures than just this one...just click on it ;)
