I can't stand curves anymore 🤭🫣

The day started early, well relatively early. At half past seven I was sitting on the motorcycle, of course packed and the motorcycle revved up. I wanted to have covered some distance before it gets really hot. I started at 24 degrees.

The first 20 km were rather boring, but then it went into the mountains. At first dense deciduous forest, which also provided shade, and along the road a mountain stream. The temperature dropped to 19 degrees. It was a very pleasant ride. However, the higher I went, the thinner the forest became and the temperatures settled at 27-28 degrees at an altitude of over 1000m. That was still bearable. There were many drinking breaks.

The roads were excellent, mediocre to terribly bad. They always required full concentration. Gravel was often found in curves or the roads were heavily damaged by truck traffic, especially in curves. Anyone who thinks they have to drive here at the limit won't live long. This can also be seen from broken guardrails, broken concrete edgings, and the death signs that are frequently found at the roadside.

But the condition of the roads is one thing, the other is the Albanian drivers who like to cut corners. I was forced to do a full brake several times.

Where there is an uphill, you also have to go downhill at some point. The climate changed, I got closer to the sea. The temperatures also rose with every meter I descended.

At an altitude of 850m I already had 32 degrees, from 200 meters the thermometer settled at 37 degrees. The driving wind doesn't cool anymore, it rather feels like driving against a hairdryer.

At some point after 300 km, I arrived at the border to Montenegro. I stood in line obediently, but the line consisted only of 6 cars. One of the border guards waved to me and signaled me to merge into the pedestrian lane. A nice gesture. I was expedited, after 10 minutes I was in Montenegro.

I had about 40 km left to drive to the hotel that I booked with Booking.com.

I entered the given hotel address into the navigation system, but as with previous hotels, Garmin just can't do it. Allegedly, I had reached my destination, a helpful local asked if he could help, but he couldn't because according to Google, my hotel was still 12 km away. It was also very difficult to find with Google, I discovered it more by chance.

That was another hour of wandering around in these inhuman temperatures.

I checked into the hotel room and the first thing I did was set the air conditioning to a healthy 24 degrees.

Today was about 360 km, about 320 km of curves, bends, and mountain roads through a truly beautiful area. Apparently, more and more Germans are discovering these great countries for themselves. Many motorcycles, many cars, and campers with German license plates.

I don't know exactly yet how it will continue tomorrow, I will decide depending on the temperatures.

On Tuesday, I will meet Lenard and Anne in Croatia, and I still have 840 km to drive to our meeting point.
