In the morning I first had to find a ride to my destination. I was only able to do this inadequately. I did find a nifty minibus to take me into town, but I was still about 8km from my destination.
My destination was the ICC, the International Commerce Center, which is located in the tallest building in the city. During my two-hour walk through the city, I discovered fruit vendors selling mangosteen. With that I refreshed and strengthened myself and finally arrived at the impressive skyscraper. Unfortunately the view was poor that day, but I was only charged half the elevator fare.
The "Sky100" viewing platform is located at a height of almost 400 m and on clear days the view must be gigantic. But even with limited visibility, the view below was fascinating. A whole forest of high-rise buildings was below me, as were many watercraft. I took photos in all directions and then treated myself to ginger tea at the Ritz Carlton Café, located on this floor. On the floors above is what is said to be the tallest hotel in the world.
The elevator took me back down and I walked past various luxury shops to the taxi rank. There I enjoyed a not-so-cheap ride in one of the iconic taxis (red with a white roof).
When I arrived at the terminal, I was taken up to the roof garden and enjoyed eating my remaining mangosteens there. Then I went on the ship.
At the Schooner Bar I listened to the "Voice of Royal" Dan Sugimoto (piano and vocals). He kindly fulfilled my music wish and played "Hurt" by Johnny Cash.
A Chinese dance troupe performed in the theater and musically told "Enchanting Tales of the East". Very nice demonstration.
