Day 19 - Killarney

Dɛn dɔn pablish am: 12.08.2018

Hello there,

Today was a slightly less exciting day. I started from Galway train station to Killarney at 8:30 in the morning. However, since the Irish train system mainly consists of trains to and from Dublin, this route was not ideal. So, I spent my time from 8:30 in the morning until two in the afternoon either on the train or at various train stations for transfers. After finally arriving in Killarney, I had to walk three quarters of an hour to the hotel with my luggage and had no lunch because my wonderful transfer train stations didn't even sell sandwiches. I was a little bit grumpy by then.

However, after finally getting rid of my luggage, having a warm lunch, and meeting a dog to cuddle in the park, I became more motivated again. And so, I went for a long walk through part of Killarney National Park, which is right next to the city and has paved paths reminding me a little bit of the Prater. Along my walk, I saw not only a heron (?) but also some deer and a castle by the lake.

Tomorrow, I will borrow a bike and continue exploring the National Park.

See you tomorrow,

Veronika
