TAG 16 - Dublin

Hello,

Since exploring the city doesn't really appeal to me at the moment, but I always enjoy beautiful landscapes, I took the train yesterday to search for beautiful hikes in the surroundings of Dublin.

And so, this morning I made my way to the train station and took a 20-minute ride from the city center to Howth, a small peninsula with some villas, harbor restaurants, lots of greenery, and stunning cliffs.

The coastal hiking trail that was advertised online was easy to find and took me on a leisurely walk around the peninsula throughout the day. The view was particularly amazing on this sunny day, with cliffs and a lighthouse in one direction, a view back to Dublin in another direction, and finally, the narrow isthmus at the entrance of the peninsula. In between, I took some time to relax in a small bay that could be reached by a detour with steep stone steps from the hiking trail. Since it was getting quite warm in the sun, the crystal-clear blue water was quite tempting. After a admittedly short swim, I sat in the sun, let my hair dry, and enjoyed the sun with a picnic sandwich and a book.

All in all, it was a very nice day that brought a real holiday feeling with summer, sun, and a beach, especially when I unpacked the butter cookies with jam and vanilla cream :)

See you tomorrow,

Veronika
