The 6th hike went from La Fouly to Champex. We hiked the route for about 5 hours, mainly along the river 'La Dranse de Ferret'. The special thing about the path were the many small villages, whose houses were often very nicely designed. One house, for example, was surrounded by garden gnomes and ladybug figures :)) In addition, we had a great view from the Ferret Valley. On the way, we met the two Israelis, as we have on every stage so far. One of them had a plastic device for huge soap bubbles and delighted a family and us with large floating soap bubbles. As we later learned from him, the physicist, he owns a company that specializes in soap bubble production and recently also in filming soap bubbles :)
After passing a lawn sprinkler with enormous range, the path ascended to Champex, up to about 1460m. Despite the high outside temperature, we managed the total of 420 meters in height well and arrived already in the late morning. The Hotel Alpina was excellent, especially the owner was an extremely friendly and helpful person, among other things because she washed and dried our laundry and apologized that she didn't have time to fold the laundry, even though there was no laundry service... We will send her a postcard from Germany with best regards!
After the dirty bird Jörg had showered, which was necessary after a day of abstaining from showers ;), we watched the stand-up paddling competition on Lake Champex from the Café and Restaurant Ptarmigan (very good food!!), which was entertaining. It's really nice and practical to arrive at the destination early! In the evening, we strolled around Lake Champex and enjoyed the great view of the mountains. By the way, the lake was so clear that we could watch the ducks diving and pecking around on the bottom, cool! While walking, we also found the starting point for the seventh hike.
