Merry Christmas under palm trees
Merry Christmas under palm trees

First report from Santiago, Chile. First of all: we arrived safely. The flight across the big pond was good, the transfer in São Paulo went smoothly and the route to Santiago, Chile was also relaxed. A highlight was crossing the Andes, Santiago, Chile is close to the mountains and we were already quite deep and could see well. After checking that the Dreamliner by Boeing has an automatic darkening of the windows and also figuring out how to make it bright again 😂.

Yesterday we took it easy and rested, today we got a first impression of Santiago. It's summer and over 30 degrees Celsius, so we took the day slowly and checked out some sights like Plaza de Armas, the cathedral, the main post office, the presidential palace, the court, and more from the outside. We actually visited the Historical Museum from the inside, unfortunately everything here - like in the entire city - is almost exclusively described in Spanish. I suspected that for Chile, but I was surprised that even in the capital so little English is spoken. Anyway, we got something to eat at the market hall, even if the waiters couldn't believe that we don't speak any Spanish at all 😂. The people here are all very friendly and relaxed, the city was not as crowded as we expected. Let's see if this was just the impression of today. Hopefully the photos speak for themselves, there are a few more this time.
