So, now our last day of vacation has already come😮💨😔😕. Today we have to pack up to go to Trelleborg for the ferry. The ferry departs at 3:00 PM towards Rostock. Since you have to check in at least one hour before departure, we made sure to leave the campsite at 10:30 AM. We still had to drive for another 2.5 hours, so it's a good thing we had some time to spare.
The last campsite, by the Bäumen lake near Ljungby, is definitely worth recommending! If we ever go in that direction again, it will definitely be a stopover.
Today we packed particularly thoroughly, which means sweeping out the tent, packing up the sleeping bags, etc. We left the campsite towards Trelleborg at 10:35 AM.
At 1:00 PM, we arrived at the check-in for the ferry to Rostock. At 2:00 PM, we were able to board the ferry. We looked for our seats, and since we had Ella with us, we had to go to the dog section. We went to the sundeck for departure, and I felt quite nostalgic. 😥 Where did the last three weeks go?
Next, we all got something to eat. We had chicken with rice and vegetables, and Lysan had fish. People always think the food on the ferry is very expensive, but I think you can't complain about €14 for a main course, salad, and a drink. And it tasted good too 😉
We spent six hours on the ferry until we arrived at the harbor in Rostock. We were greeted with a breathtakingly beautiful sunset. We're no longer used to the sun actually setting and it getting dark at night. The GPS showed another good five hours until we get home. If all goes well, we should be home by 2:30 AM.
On the way back, we reviewed the last 20 days, talked about our experiences and highlights, which were different for everyone. For me, definitely sliding down the Holmenkollenbacken with the zipline. And also the beaches on the Lofoten.
Since the trip went even better than we expected, we arrived in Sayda at exactly 2:00 AM. Now we just unloaded the essentials from the car and fell into our beds.
By the way, we drove a total of 6859 kilometers on the road 🤗☺️ and there are still the kilometers of the ferries...
