Next chapter: Wales

The next chapter got off to a rough start. I started in Bristol in rain and it didn't stop the whole day, except during lunch, when I was sitting inside. To get to Wales I had to cross the Bristolcanal. When I saw the huge bridge going over the water I felt a little queasy and I was very happy when I reached the other side. But I had to cycle a lot along the road and I came trough places which were full of rubbish and broken glass beside the road. Fortunately I found a nice farm at the seaside to stay for the night and a great pub nearby for a nice dinner. But the next day there was no way for cyclists anymore and it was even worse and I felt very uncomfortable.

It changed when I reached Cardiff Bay. I stopped for a coffee and I could see the new culture centre and the Norwegian church. The city centre of Cardiff is again a mixture of old an new, like the big stadium and the historic castle. From there the cycle path only led trough greenery. Shortly before I arrived in Merthyr Tydfil I had a flat tire. I put a new tube on but I didn't manage to get the tire back on without wobbling. The campsite there was a bit creepy and it started to rain, so I booked a room for the night - 4 stars and all amenities you can imagine.
