Today the day begins at 7:00 a.m. After 3 coffees, I am able to stow the luggage on the Hummel. At 9:00 a.m. sharp, we set off towards Bonifacio to cover the approximately 150km. On the way, we come across 2 rally convoys, one with brand new Porsches and the other group with historic rally vehicles. But there are still 2 events that need to be reported. On a 5km long downhill stretch with hairpin bends, I have a coach in front of me that I can hardly catch up with - the poor passengers. Shortly before Valledoria, I overtake an Italian touring motorcycle. When I am at the same height, I am speechless - the driver has his mobile phone in his left hand and is tapping a message with his thumb. We drive purposefully to the ferry terminal where the ferry is being unloaded. After a short time, we are allowed to drive in and secure our Hummel with straps. The crossing only takes 50 minutes and is entertaining. When unloading in Santa Teresa, the loading personnel act all tough and shout and gesture, as the tourists are not leaving the ship fast enough according to their taste.
We find our new accommodation purposefully and move in. Our host only speaks Italian and uses the Google Translator - this way we can exchange information about the peculiarities of the holiday home without language conflicts. In the evening, we enjoy a Sardinian red wine on the terrace.
