Our further path led us to Franz Josef Glacier. This is a glacier that is about 10 km long and is located right next to Fox Glacier. Since it had been raining all day, we looked for a paid campground to stay overnight. Often it is not expensive and at least has decent toilets, warm showers, and shelter, e.g. for cooking. We didn't do much more than that. We took a warm shower, cooked, and went to bed. If you're lucky, you'll have internet reception, or even better, the offered Wi-Fi works too :D Then you can watch something on Netflix in the evenings.
The next day we continued to the glacier and Pascal did the 1.5-hour walk there. If you want to go directly onto the glacier, you have to invest in a helicopter flight, otherwise, you can only admire it from a distance. I made myself comfortable in the car during that time, it was raining again, and did some reading.
