What a night. What a storm. Top speeds of 80km/h. It's much more fun to sleep in a wooden cabin. Not 😁 the day started early at 7am. Quick breakfast and off we go. We experienced so much today that I don't even remember what came first. Oh yeah.. Hanson Bay! Pouring rain on the way there. Luckily it stopped when we arrived. We counted 45 (!!) koalas on a 200m long eucalyptus avenue! Such fluffy creatures (as long as they don't ram their claws into your flesh). Then we went to the Remarkable Rocks. Sometimes nature does crazy things! Over 10 million years ago, a volcano rested 10km further up. Today, not much is left except for a few incredibly cool-shaped rocks. Climbing monkey Basti had to climb all of them 😉 Next stop: Admirals Arch. Apart from many small and large sea lions, there is also a fantastic natural spectacle there. Huge waves, a completely hollowed out rock.. you just can't get enough of it. Then we went to lunch before heading to the sand dunes. Sandboarding was on the agenda. Theoretically super cool. In practice, we were greeted by a tiny giant sandstorm. We will remember that for a long time 😁 but it was fun to zoom down the dunes on a board. Given the weather, we have long given up hope of a smooth ferry ride back to the mainland. The sun was shining just a moment ago, now it's pouring rain again. Man man man... our waterproof outdoor equipment was worth it 😂 Arriving by ferry, we still have a good hour's drive to McCracken where we will stay in an Airbnb again. So the evening is still gonna be long.... 🌧🌙
