The trip to Cartagena turned out to be a complete disaster in every way. In the completely overcrowded and chaotic bus from Calabezo to Cartagena, the guys from the bus company went through the luggage. When we arrived in Cartagena, Jonas immediately noticed that someone had tampered with his suitcase and when we opened it, we saw that everything had been rummaged through. Of course, a case with the diving watch, headlamp, diving camera, etc. was missing. Marina confronted the men, but they pretended to know nothing. Jonas also became more serious in his gestures and Marina let the men know that she would call the police right away. Suddenly, a man remembered that there was "another luggage compartment". He returned a missing bag to another woman and handed us a garbage bag. Of course, it contained our things and we were briefly glad to have them back. The attempted theft was not fulfilled by the police. With the words, "You have your things back, don't you? Do you really want to use the police's time and paper for this?". After 1.5 hours at the Google Translator, we gave up, the system was stuck on the PC and we were just tired. Next, the taxi driver got upset with us because we only wanted to pay him the amount on the ticket printed by the bus terminal, he demanded three times the amount. Finally, we arrived at the hotel and hoped that Cartagena had more beautiful things to offer. As the pearl of the Caribbean, Cartagena is truly beautiful! We just chose the wrong time because at times it felt like home as we only heard German during our cozy city walk. We admired the beautiful fireworks at the city wall on New Year's Eve and then wandered through the streets. We also took it easy and went for walks in the following days.
