The start: Fuerteventura

The adventure begins!

I was lucky🍀 to be able to live in Fuerteventura🇮🇨 for 6 months. Through a chain - for me, a happy coincidence - I got a job in administration at the Robinson Club Esquinzo Playa.

I flew🛫 on May 20th, 2023 alone, with my 75 kg luggage🧳 from Frankfurt to Puerto del Rosario. The feelings during the flight were something between: excitement, curiosity, sadness and uncertainty. I have ALL my loved🥰 people - incl. my husband, left behind in Germany. Was that really a good decision? Will I be able to find my way around the suburb? Will I feel comfortable? Questions about questions.

Landed! Waiting for the suitcases. We all know the crowd at the baggage carousel - we love it. My three thick suitcases, my hand luggage and my handbag 👜 are now on my trolley. I'm still upset.

My luck🍀: I have people on site that I'm looking forward to meeting🤗. Melli and Nathalie are already waiting for me at the exit. Our first adventure starts here. We try to squeeze my three huge suitcases and my carry-on luggage into Hudson.

Now you're wondering, who is Hudson? Hudson is the ladies' car🚗. An old C-Class that is definitely NOT designed for that much luggage but it fit.

We drive from the airport to Esquinzo. It's midday🕛, incredibly hot 🥵 and, of course, Hudson's air conditioning isn't working. Regardless, we have a nice trip. We chatted, we laughed🤭, we fooled around.

When I arrive at the hotel🏨, I am greeted by my new boss Sebastian🙋🏼 and can move into my room. We walk through the area for what feels like half an hour - but it's a maximum of 400 m.

And I'm lucky again🍀. I work in administration and therefore get a single room with a balcony and SEA VIEW🌊. Other employees have to share their rooms with other colleagues.

I'm slowly realizing where I am and what I'm doing here. Nevertheless, everything is still very overwhelming. I now live in a hotel complex with over 100,000 square meters with over 350 rooms and over 1000 guests.

Strange feeling.

After I freshen up I go to dinner. Nathalie picks me up from my room, we collect Melli at the reception🛎️ and go to the restaurant. There is a huge buffet here and a good bottle of wine🍷. The first day is coming to an end🌅 and I'm still overwhelmed by all the impressions.

Starting tomorrow a new life begins for me. On the Island of Eternal Spring🌼, the Island of Strong Wind🌬️ or the Blissful Island. In the following posts, I would like to introduce you to this beautiful island 🏝️ and show you where I found my happiness and where I ate my best food.
