Shortly after starting at the Main-Danube Canal, the cycle path leads to Pettstadt. The hand-operated ferry has been in operation there since the 14th century (now in a modern version). The ferrymen are community employees who ferry you across for one euro. It is worth watching how the ferry changes banks, driven by the current.
It was not possible to take a ride on the Johannes Keppler. It was moored in the parking position on the Main-Danube Canal.
Shortly before Erlangen, we got our first flat tire on the tour. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the cause, put in a new tube, it held. After 3 km, we set the correct air pressure at the bike shop and got a new replacement tube.
