Day 9 (Kanazawa)

Dɛn dɔn pablish am: 21.03.2023

The breakfast in Kanazawa was the best of the entire trip. The Japanese often eat warm breakfast, so there is usually little that we know from breakfast in Europe, like bread or rolls, or yogurt and cereals. Here in Japan, it is not unusual to eat curry with rice or soup for breakfast. However, our hotel in Kanazawa had such a great selection that even we were satisfied.

After breakfast, we went to see the castle in Kanazawa (Shin-maru hiroba). This was one of the largest wooden structures in Japan, and the building also showed how complicated the construction was.

After that, we visited the Kenrokuen Garden, which is regarded as the largest and most beautiful garden in Japan. There is not much to tell about the garden, but it was truly incredibly beautiful.

On the way to lunch, we briefly passed by an Inari shrine.

For lunch, we had delicious curry and for dessert, we had donuts and other delicacies. While we were looking for a place to eat them, we came across a peace march that had formed nearby.

On the way back, we briefly visited a small samurai museum, but it was so small that we went through it in 20 minutes.

In the evening, we had meat. In the restaurant, you could order the meat and then grill it yourself on a grill in the table. We also ordered rice, and I had one with extra toppings. It was served in a hot bowl, so when I stirred it, the egg in it solidified, which was pretty cool.

Before going to bed, we went to the hotel's onsen, which was smaller than the previous one but still pleasant.
