On Sunday, we all went to Greenville to take a small city tour and visit a waterfall. I think you can spend a few hours here. At least the city promises a lot of coziness at first glance.
And honestly, who has a waterfall right in the city?!? (Note from the guest author: except for Landsberg of course. 😜)
In the afternoon, everything was about smoke signals.
First, the charcoal grill was preheated, then the meat was smoked for a cozy 3½ hours, before it was slow-cooked for 30-45 minutes in a well-wrapped package, and finally got a delicious crust from the charcoal grill.
It was so delicious, I mean SO delicious... if I haven't mentioned it yet, it was SO delicious... simply amazing. I rarely had such good and tasty meat.
A good beer or for me a Radler with it, and the weekend and the conclusion at Nadja and Liehrum was simply good.
On Monday, it was time to pack, say goodbye with hugs, and head to the airport.
We wanted to eat something before the flight and chose Five Guys. I think the burgers are a bit expensive, but the milkshake with bacon makes up for it. It sounds strange, it is strange, but the combination is amazing. I promise you.
The airport and the flight itself were unspectacular. Unfortunately, there were no sausages, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes on the plane, but the pasta was okay. The plane itself was quite empty, so we could have 2 seats for ourselves and sleep a little better.
Arriving in Munich, the first thing was to drive home, eat pretzels, and for me, a proper coffee and finally an apple spritzer. Everything worked out wonderfully and you appreciate the little things again.
In the evening, we went to eat in our village and reminisced about the vacation here and there and now we are looking forward to our bed, as jetlag greets us.
All in all, a very nice vacation.
The people are incredibly friendly.
Now I know why there are so many Starbucks. (They just can't make coffee otherwise.)
It's not cheap, but it's worth it.
And the mix of big city, culture, history, and visiting friends was just right.
See you soon
