Day 6: Lower Antelope Canyon to Monument Valley

Dɛn dɔn pablish am: 05.08.2016

Today we had booked a tour in Lower Antelope Canyon. We woke up early as usual, checked out early, and had breakfast. The weather looked promising, with occasional blue skies. The sun would create better lighting effects in the canyon. The tour started at 10:30 am, of course with us. How should I put it. If I had known how narrow it is down there and how many people are allowed in these tight canyons, I would not have done this tour. Luckily, I didn't know that beforehand. In order to enter the canyon, you had to go through a narrow gorge and climb narrow metal ladders, and it took 2 hours. Since we booked a photo tour, we were guided through the oncoming traffic, exactly where it was particularly tight. But everything went well, thankfully. We took many photos, our arms and legs are still intact, and the impression down there was very special. I'm not so satisfied with the photos, but that's also because we had very little time and I need peace and quiet for the settings and everything.

After 2 hours, we climbed out of the ladders again. Due to the lack of balance and the few muscles in my legs, my arms and thighs had to work a lot, and I noticed that when I was back up and probably even more tomorrow. But I don't regret anything ;-)

After that, we continued our journey to Monument Valley. Unfortunately, there was no visible sunset here either. The weather is not completely on our side. Tomorrow morning, we will try to catch the sunrise (if there is one), drive through Monument Valley a bit, and then continue to Moab.
