30.08.2024 Shap to Orton

Today we traveled 13 km (according to the English measurement) on one of our shortest routes. Under brilliant sunshine (my face got sunburned…) we walked over fields and hills with many sheep towards Orton. We made such good progress that we took extra breaks to avoid arriving too early at our accommodation for the night. At times, we were accompanied by a group of two young people and an older very pleasant American woman, with whom we could talk about all sorts of things. Once we arrived in Orton, we settled in a café called "Orton Scar Café" (in German Orton Calciferous Rock Scar Café), which served excellent homemade walnut coffee cake. So all in all, it was a relaxed and wonderful day.
