We have arrived, after a long but calm flight across the Atlantic we are enjoying the cozy warmth that greets us on the gangway, walking across the tarmac and being scanned and searched again during the immigration formalities. No idea what the Cubans are afraid of.
At the airport in Havana, the first old American cars are already waiting and they are a feast for the eyes, big, powerful, in the dark they even look well maintained.
Pick-up works and in the middle of the old town we take our first quarters, a hotel, which has seen better days, a morbid charm best describes the atmosphere. Another nightcap, a Mojito is a must, it tastes different than in Germany, and then we are tired, it is 5 o'clock German time, time to go to sleep.
