It was clear from the start that we couldn't walk the route we had planned as it was - it was too long and there were too many meters of elevation. So we quickly changed our plans and decided to shorten the tour a bit. Thanks to Google Maps, we quickly found a solution. From Badia, the first and only option was to take a bus. We took advantage of that. After five hours of hiking through the forests of Tuscany in dry weather (!), we reached the town, from where we immediately got a bus to Bibbiena. Once we got there, we didn't have to wait long for the bus to La Verna.
La Verna is truly impressive. This is where Eco might have found his inspiration for the name of the rose.
Countless corridors, stairs and halls that seem to be lined up without any system. The way to the dormitory is an adventure, then the way back to the dining room is a challenge.
Everywhere there are small chapels, strange rooms whose function is unclear to us, and dimly lit corridors and staircases, all embedded in an indescribably beautiful and wild nature.
