We did it. We covered almost 300 km in the last few days, met lots of nice people and had a wonderful time.
At this point I can only thank Nobby, who provided the impetus for this tour, which he knew he didn't have to persuade me for long.
And with a little sadness I think of Klaus, who actually wanted to accompany us on this tour but couldn't come at short notice. We missed you!!!
But how was the day?
Amelia, our wonderful host, drove us the four kilometers to Valfabbrica, which saved us a long descent. We had breakfast there and then set off on the last leg to Assisi. The path led us through a narrow and wild valley until we reached a hill from which we could see Assisi from afar. A good two hours later we reached our destination.
Describing the funny meetings with people on the way there would go beyond the scope of this article, but suffice it to say that somehow the threads all converged with Verena.
After a final strenuous climb, we reached Assisi and the cathedral. There, we were warmly welcomed by Verena.
I will now give the rest in a quick run-through:
Hotel at the foot of the city 👍
Afterwards, sightseeing and a walk through the city.
Pilgrim mass in which our names were read out
Later we eat in a restaurant with all the people we had met during the day; not only the trophy but also the path has its own rules.
All in all, a really good end to the last 14 days.
