Today, I leisurely traveled to Vardenis along the eastern shore of Lake Sevan. The route wasn't too long, but it was perfect for cruising: the road was excellent, and the scenery was noteworthy. After some searching, I found my accommodation and, with the help of a friendly neighbor, I called the owner's mother over. The (older) lady teaches geography at a local school. The whole family is highly educated, ranging from a mathematics professor to a linguist to an agricultural economist; there is a diverse representation here. I had an extensive conversation with Artem, the owner, during dinner. Unfortunately, my friend's restaurant had a private event, so I had to find some roast chicken nearby. Artem accompanied me and invited me to eat at his house. He also provided two smoked fish from the lake, the obligatory salad of tomatoes and cucumbers, as well as homemade yogurt and bread. The food was exceptionally delicious and our conversation was enjoyable.
