The evening was very cozy and the night... well, actually quiet. Except for a few dogs barking occasionally and some guests locking their rooms before and after using the bathroom. And that even though they were double rooms. It has been known to happen that pilgrims run away or get stolen in the middle of the night...
At six o'clock the alarm clock rang obediently. With the goal of arriving early today and then resting a bit, as tomorrow will be a long and intense day.
After our almost obligatory muesli bar and yogurt breakfast, we set off. It was once again rather chilly at 7 degrees. Plus, there was a brisk wind blowing.
Today we walked through Galicia's eucalyptus forests. You would think you are in the wrong movie, as these trees usually grow in rainforests.
After the first challenging 300-meter ascent, the terrain kept going up and down.
We arrived 6 km before Melide right on time at 12 o'clock and enjoyed our leftover pasta with tomato sauce. Since it was a bit cool (14 degrees), we had to look for a (quiet) spot with some fresh air. It's not that easy anymore, because there are now many day backpack pilgrims from Sarria (we lovingly call them peregrinellis) and one bar follows the next.
We were already in the really beautiful albergue before two o'clock. Unpacking, showering, writing and then looking for food again.
