In our second week with the girls, things are not going well. On Monday morning at 6 o'clock, construction workers start the (according to the owner agreed upon start: early September) basic renovation of the dilapidated trullo on the neighboring property. From now on, there is daily loud construction noise from 6am to 3pm. On Tuesday, we puncture a tire of the van on a protruding stone while driving through one of the typical narrow country lanes. Two very friendly Italians help us and arrange for a (way too small) spare tire, so that we can clear the one-way road after 2.5 hours. On Friday morning, we finally receive a new tire (after a lengthy process), and the van is ready to go again. In the meantime, we are not only bound to our trullo because of the missing tire, but also because Leonie is lying flat with a high fever for 3 days without food. By the way, it's raining every day, our favorite sunbed gets stolen, the dishwasher breaks down, and so on. As I said, the second week was troublesome. A little sad that the time with the girls is already coming to an end and we couldn't make the most of it as planned, we spend our last evening. Tomorrow, we will drive towards Bari. If Leonie is feeling better, we will make a detour to Monopoli before the children get on the plane tomorrow evening and we cross over to Greece, Corfu by ferry.
