We actually stayed at this beautiful nature campsite Artaza-Udeterra for 4 nights because it offered a high level of relaxation for both of us. One of us was looking for peace and solitude, the other for exercise and experiencing nature - both could be found and combined here.
So we followed Joseba's good advice again and went twice to the Nacedero Urederra National Park with our bikes, where on our first visit we walked along a perfectly signposted hiking trail through a gorge along a stream with small waterfalls to an enchanting lagoon. But the view of the opposing rock plateau, where countless birds of prey once again hovered, was also impressive.
So the next day we cycled to this plateau, so that we could now see the vultures circling below us, sometimes very impressively directly above our heads. For the steep ascent, I had used up quite a bit of energy and water, so I had to bundle up for the now rapid descent. That was definitely my speed record on 10 kilometers.
In the evening, the bar on the campsite was also open, so the day could be comfortably ended in the warmth with one or the other glass of red wine.
