Tuscany 2001 - Day 12

Wednesday, 20.6.2001

The sun is already blazing early in the morning, so our first option is the pool!

Chilling around, reading, lazing around, sunbathing, playing ball + swimming, thinking, solving puzzles, dozing off.

Late in the afternoon we had a little snack with a small bottle and then at around 6 we headed to Siena .

We let ourselves drift through the alleys, sit on the brick floor in the Campo and let the city work its magic on us and enjoy the atmosphere.

The quality of the evening meal is as feared - rather poor. However, the hustle and bustle in the garden makes up for it. Italy as it lives and breathes. The noise level is high, the waiters buzz around, tables are rearranged depending on the number of guests and since we do understand a few Italian words now and then, it is quite amusing.

And now it's really beautiful in the city. Dark blue night sky, pleasantly lit alleys, almost only Italians around (and most of them young), Cafe é Grappa and a little further on gelato from Nannini, that's quality of life.

So we go home happy and contented and - after the obligatory nightcap - soon into bed.
