Acquaintance
I met a nice Thai girl during a trial session for a research project (but didn't get the job due to lack of experience). She is studying in Melbourne and is really nice. We are going to meet again soon. Her name is Fa and she can give me some good travel tips about Thailand. At the moment, I'm a big fan of Thailand. Why am I a fan? Please Google Thailand and click on images. I can make a free stopover on my return flight. Let's see if it will be Thailand.
Snack in between
TimTams, chocolate bars that are addictive. Incredibly tasty, incredibly quick to finish.
Hofbräuhaus
There are many German girls around my age at the Hofbräuhaus who are also doing a year abroad. One even came from Hanover. I really enjoy working there. Whenever someone has a birthday, we all dance the Chicken Dance and then everyone gets a free shot. The atmosphere is always great. Definitely recommended if you're ever in Melbourne. The saddest part was when the kitchen made a mistake in an order and I, "the new girl", had to eat the Wiener Schnitzel topped with ham, tomatoes, and cheese with fries. I did this immediately out of politeness. Work can be so tough. By the way, the uniform is a dirndl. So I got to experience my first dirndl in Australia as well. It was almost embarrassing as a German to have never worn a dirndl before.
St. Kilda
On August 25th, Tim, Ben, and I took a walk to St. Kilda Pier while the sun was setting. We were able to see some penguins that come out of their shelter at dusk.
Brighton
On August 26th, Flizzi and I took a walk to Brighton. In Brighton, there are the famous beach boxes. It was very beautiful. The beach in Melbourne is incredible. The combination of a calming beach and a crowded and bustling city center makes Melbourne very diverse.
