Kyoto - Man and Nature

게시됨: 12.04.2019

On Tuesday morning we went to a very special forest, the 'Arashiyama Bamboo Grove'. When you walk through this forest section, you feel like a little dwarf, surrounded by several tens of meters high bamboo trees. Peace and quiet are only found here in the early morning hours, as otherwise this bamboo forest is crossed by thousands of visitors per day. Nevertheless, this forest section is one of the most impressive walks. We tried to capture the beauty with photos.

After this unique experience, we went back to the Philosopher's Path. Firstly, because we hadn't seen the adjacent temple complex of Ginkaku-ji from the inside during our first visit, and secondly, because this place with its hundreds of cherry trees is currently beautiful.

Japan is not only known for its temples, but also for the art of gardening and the famous rock or gravel gardens. A famous rock garden is located in the temple complex of Ginkaku-ji (also known as the silver temple). It stands for the simplicity and harmony of Zen meditation.

On the way to the next bus station, we accidentally passed by another beautiful cherry blossom spot. Besides the Hirano Shrine, there was the opportunity to admire special cherry tree species and their blossoms in a fenced-off area. There were almost no other visitors here - a secret tip, so to speak.

At dusk, we visited Toji Temple, where the cherry trees are skillfully illuminated. This gives the already impressive trees even more glamour. But see for yourself on the photos.
