The day started off sunny and ended quite rainy—but with a rainbow 🌈. I was out and about anyway, visiting ancient villages with narrow and very narrow streets, with the steepest climbs and wonderful views. With houses that still have iron rings attached—that's where they used to tie up animals. With churches where the pews are so old that they groan just looking at them, and with passageways where you fear the old wood could give way at any moment.
Two years ago I had the best lemon ice cream in Vernazza, and today it was in Santa Fiori, which came in second place—an explosion of lemon flavor on the tongue😋—and only three euros instead of the usual 3.50. And at the end of the day, after a very bumpy ride through the beautiful Orcia Valley, I had the usual Aperol in the little bar. End of work!
Lesson of the day: Even in Tuscany there are rainy days 😏😅
