LA Story II

Hollywood Boulevard, Malibu, Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Long Beach, so many famous names! However, these places seemed rather anemic in winter, in the rain, during a global pandemic. Grey sky, closed shops, and few tourists... we made the best of it.

Los Angeles is a sprawling city, connected by a network of freeways, at least five lanes, on and off ramps, intersections that spread over up to five levels. Unfamiliar signage, dim lighting at night. Overtaking from the right and left. I hated it, but I persevered.

The reward was trips to Venice, the Griffith Observatory with a view over the metropolis, and the Hollywood Boulevard. The weather just held up.
