DAY 18 .... you should wear some flowers in your hair !!!!

게시됨: 29.10.2016

As you can see, we are still alive and we were not attacked last night, so after a very restless night, we were able to continue. Our motel neighbor next door was blasting the latest hip hop beats on the entire floor until about 4am, so we didn't get much sleep tonight, but we had enough energy to get through the day with flying colors.

This morning, we headed to North Point very early and first stopped at the nearest Starbucks because we weren't really awake yet. Our destination was the famous Cable Cars of San Francisco, we always wanted to casually ride them and bought a round trip ticket right away. You can't get around San Francisco better than this, because you see so much of the city and you don't get out of breath after three blocks because you have to walk up and down the giant hills.

The ride was really fun and we even managed to get two standing spots on the edge and take some cool pictures.

After the fresh breeze in the early morning, we continued with our own car towards Japan Town where we visited the big Japanese shopping center. There were really crazy things to buy and eat and you really had the feeling of being somewhere in Tokyo at a weekly market.

But outside, the American air blew in our faces again and we attacked the Painted Ladies a few blocks away. Everyone has probably seen these houses, at least from the series Full House. Unfortunately, the weather was very gray today and you will look in vain for the blue sky in the photos, but we were there ;)

We also met Megan here, whom we met at the beginning of our trip in Zion National Park. She lives near San Francisco, in Berkely, and she really wanted to meet us again and show us some insider tips about San Francisco.

But before we continued, we had to strengthen ourselves with good Mexican food and went to one of Megan's favorite restaurants.

First, we strolled through the Haight Ashbury district, which, according to the smell, is second to none in Amsterdam ;) there are coffeeshops and small hippie shops everywhere, especially now just before Halloween, it's super cool to walk through one of the numerous costume stores.

Then we continued to Baker Beach, a great vantage point from which we could photograph the Golden Gate Bridge. Afterwards, our convoy, with Megan leading the way, drove to Twin Peaks, the highest point in the city. The view over San Francisco was simply fantastic from up there, and you could see all the districts we had already visited from above in miniature format.

Before it started to get dark, we drove to the Mission District, a Latin American neighborhood, and checked out all the graffiti in Clarion Alley.

After so much action, it was time for a beer in the evening J and it was time to say goodbye to Megan. She promised us that she would visit us in Germany soon and visit Croatia J

We hope tonight will be a bit quieter than last night.

See you tomorrow, dear friends!!!!
