OH MAN! What a day! But let's start from the beginning!
The day starts with a typical Italian breakfast (according to the landlady), and what does that mean? They only served sweets! Nothing for me, especially when I only want to eat once a day, like I've been doing all week.
But the best part was that it was market day in Penne, and the smell of grilled meat was everywhere! Even in the room, I thought it smelled like something was being grilled! Porchetta was available on every corner of the small town, and after this breakfast, I wanted nothing more than to unite my noble pork stomach with a roasted pig!
Naturally, the result was that I almost devoured a cow for lunch, with its calf as dessert, topped with cherries and whipped cream! Give it to us raw and wriggling!
The goal of the day was to tour Apulia, and what can I say: BREATHTAKING (pictures speak louder than words)!
As an official traffic obstruction, my Berta and I were seen, and Gockl probably issued the finest traffic warnings because that idiot Kneißl was always hanging around somewhere on the road!
But the worst is yet to come!
Let's go to the accommodation! Let's go to Bisceglie!
It was chaos! Traffic jam! Everyone driving in all directions, and I was right in the middle! The navigation system went crazy, and my accommodation was in the middle of the old town!
So screw it! No entry allowed? I have to go in now! I mean, I've been riding on a pedestrian zone, that's how I was seen...
Old streets terribly narrow and cobblestones as smooth as silk, my feet slipped even when standing still!
Then I got close to the room, stood next to a church, and a crowd of people looked at me amazed, along with three policemen...
There was no choice, I got off the scooter and asked for help, but no one spoke English, but they helped the foreigner!
The landlady was called, she would take a few minutes to arrive, the crowd grew bigger, a brass band had to pass by me, unfortunately, I was in the way...
In the meantime, some dignitaries dressed in traditional attire and keys around their necks gathered, along with a few ladies and gentlemen dressed all in black with banners, and me with Berta right in the middle, surrounded by police officers!
The landlady finally arrived, a policeman said I should move the scooter a bit because the procession couldn't pass by me...
I hurried to take off my bags, under the curious gaze of the locals, and wanted to park Berta around the corner, asked a carabiniere if it's safe here, and he said: Naples! Be careful of everything!
Man, you could have heated up a whole pigsty with my red face!!!!! I was soooo embarrassed about everything!
I didn't dare take photos immediately...
So I looked for a garage to keep Berta safe, and then I made my way back home. Along the way, I grabbed some specialties, and today I will indulge myself, I've earned it!
Yep, always those foreigners!
P.s.: I'm no longer embarrassed about making mistakes today!
