Hello ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
Now it's about time! ๐
Since some have really wished me to continue this blog, I have decided to keep writing. But also because my friends are all over the world at the moment and I won't be able to update everyone. ๐
A lot has happened in my life again and by now I can say that I'm 90% back in Germany. ๐ I don't have too many problems falling asleep according to the German time anymore and I don't have to adjust to the weather anymore either. ๐
I'm in the middle of life or rather in the middle of my studies at the moment. For those who have forgotten or don't remember: I'm studying departmental journalism in Ansbach. ๐ฉ๐ผโ๐๐ค
Currently, I have the subjects video journalism, digital journalism (or also called online journalism), research, journalistic basics and audio journalism.
What do I enjoy the most? I can't really say, because all subjects have something that excites me and makes me want to stay tuned and learn more. ๐
For example, in video journalism, we'll be shooting and editing our own feature. ๐ That will be our term paper in the 1st semester.
In audio journalism, we also have to edit a 2-3 minute piece, but our focus will be on audio rather than filming. So it's kind of like creating a radio feature. ;) This will also be a term paper. ๐ง
In research and journalistic basics, we focus more on source analysis and how to conduct thorough research for a post. ๐
In digital journalism, we learn how to present ourselves well on the Internet and on social media channels and how to find a good 'gap' or a suitable 'niche' to gain visibility. ๐
We also have to obtain a camera license. I wonder if I'll pass? ๐ I'm sure I will, as I already have some experience with it. ๐๐ป
But here's something I want to mention: before my university was built, the place used to be a US military base. That's why the buildings look like barracks where soldiers are usually accommodated. It's really cool! ๐ It seems like a piece of America is coming to Germany! ๐ฉ๐ช๐บ๐ธ
I also found out that another US military base is a few kilometers away from where I live. The town where this base is located is called Katterbach. :D I even saw an American at Aldi. ๐ I guess that happens more often here. ๐
So, that was a brief summary of my university. But now I'll stop here, because otherwise, no one will want to start studying if I reveal too much. It should only provide an insight. ๐
The move went well! I also got to explore the city a bit. It looks very beautiful โบ๏ธ
In the gallery, you can see the house where I live. There are six nice young women living there, including me. ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ You can also see some impressions of the interior. We share the common areas, but each of us has our own private room, and I think mine is really spacious! ๐
One of the girls will most likely move out soon. What does that mean? One room will become available again! For now... until someone else comes. :)
It's getting quite autumnal here. The villages and forests become more colorful with each passing day. ๐๐ I love autumn! ๐ฅฐ
Who would have thought, but next week I'll be celebrating my birthday without my family and close friends for the third time. ๐ฅฒ But it's good that I can go home for the long weekend that comes after. Then I'll celebrate again! ๐คช๐ฅณ๐พ
By the way, I have also found a job now! I think that's simply great because I finally feel like I can earn my own money. โบ๏ธ๐
The next blog entry will be about yesterday when we attended the Media Days at university. I want to write my own little blog post about it. It should be online here in the next few days! ๐
With that, I want to wrap things up here for now. Now you are a bit more informed about me. ๐
See you very soon ๐๐ป
Yours Salome
