Frรผhlings-Update ๐Ÿ’/ spring update ๐Ÿ’

Hey! ๐Ÿคญ

Here's a new blog post! โ˜บ๏ธ

So much has happened again and already another month is starting. Awesome! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Spring is just around the corner and daffodils are growing everywhere. I like the spring. Not too warm and not too cold outside. Just right! ๐Ÿ˜‹

During Easter break, we let the horses out to pasture for the first time this year. They ran like crazy and were really excited to eat the lush grass. ๐ŸŒณ

By the way, two of five foals are already born! You can see them in my picture gallery. ๐Ÿด So cute and so soft. ๐Ÿ˜

I had the thought to go to a horse auction for a long time. So I had asked the stable director if that would be possible sometime. Sure enough, the day before Easter we went to a horse auction in Sherman, which is about 40 minutes from the ranch. It was exactly as I imagined it would be. Horses were presented and then there was bidding. One horse really appealed to me and I had suggested it to the barn director. However, he knew horses better than I did and we ended up not buying it for the ranch. ๐ŸŽ You could also buy little Labrador puppies. For only $150! That's the equivalent of about 142โ‚ฌ. They were also really cute. โ˜บ๏ธ I would have loved to put one in my bag. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Among other things, but also goats, pigs, cows, etc. could be purchased.

On Easter itself, I was invited by a woman who always holds devotions for the younger children here during the summer camps. We cooked and baked together. There were Nutella puff pastry Easter bunnies for dessert. ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿซ The next morning we went to the Easter service. After an Easter lunch and some games with the family where I was, I went back to the ranch. I spent the evening with a co-worker family where they had the second Easter dinner for me. ๐Ÿ™‚ A few students came, too.

The second week of Easter break, I watched a coworker family's dog. I took Daisy almost everywhere with me. Whether it was to the nearby lake, to the office where I was working on some videos, or to barn chores. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ That was really fun! I even provided her with a blanket in our media office! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Then when the students came back last Monday, the normal school routine resumed. With 10 days left, we are done with the school program and we are transitioning into our summer positions. ๐Ÿ˜… We will then get new students in media and others will move to another department. I don't know if I've written it yet, but I will be the main person in video. Like last year, there will be a final video for each week when parents come back to pick up their kids. My advisor sister will be working with me. ๐Ÿ˜Š It's nice to have someone by my side this year. Last year I only got partial help.

Last week a media student, who is from Canada by the way, gave us water ice. In my life, I haven't seen big ones like that. I only know the small ones we have, but that must have been around 50-70 cm tall. ๐Ÿคฃ

I went to Tim Hortons with the second year students last week to work on school supplies. I don't know if it's just me, but I just can't get stuff done when I'm somewhere else. I get distracted so easily. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚

Now for something cool at the end. Thursday the newspaper was here and my boss, Kyle and I walked around the ranch with the woman from the newspaper and showed her things, what's going on around here. We are still working on the bunkhouse that can house over 20 people. It should be finished soon so we can use it for the kids in the summer. In the picture you can see what it looks like right now. We ended up getting in the newspaper too! (My first time in an American newspaper, by the way ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜„) It's pretty awesome what you get to experience when you work in the media department on a ranch.

Tonight my Canadian roommate and I spontaneously went to McDonald's to get milkshakes and that's when I got the crazy idea to explore the laundromat in Corry. I only knew these from American movies. I have the souvenir photo now! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ“ธ

The time runs and runs and I look now already after return flights. So far, the plan is that I will return to the German 'mainland' in mid-September. Then I will have time to do something after the graduation on August 20th. That is also still in planning at the moment. At the beginning of June I will make a small mini trip/ city trip. A city that I have wanted to visit here for a long time. Simply to switch off once again before the busy summer is just around the corner. ๐Ÿ˜…โ˜€๏ธ

Until the next update! โ˜บ๏ธโœŒ๐Ÿป
