The time has come: the long-awaited Vegas trip has happened and what can I say? It was even better than expected!! We flew to Las Vegas on Thursday and arrived at the casino at 11:30 p.m. and celebrated my birthday with a glass of champagne and a shot of Jägermeister! We also gambled a bit, but unfortunately we didn't win, so we gave up pretty quickly :) We went out briefly and looked at downtown Las Vegas and then went to bed - after all, you shouldn't forget that It felt later for us due to the 3-hour time difference. But of course what was much more important was that the next day (my 24th birthday, yeyyy) was going to be extremely stressful. Since we're still studying, of course, we went to meetings at 7:30 in the morning and then we got ready and headed to the strip. It was crazyyyy! So many signs, so many cool shops, so many famous places recreated, it really was all there! Of course we went to the Coca Cola Shop and the M&M Shop and it was super cool to see :) When we were done with the strip we went to eat at the Cheesecake Factory (Hello, Big Bang Theory) and what can I say? Never again hahah. It was terrible, but oh well, there's nothing you can do... Then we went back to the strip and onto a Ferris wheel, where we could see not only Vegas, but also the Sphere (in Vegas) and the nature around Vegas, what was really, really cool :) Up until that point we had perfect weather (11 degrees and bright sunshine) and when a bit of drizzle started, we drove to a nearby outlet and did a bit of shopping :) Let's say it like this: Montse and I both went there with one bag and came back with two bags, so we definitely found something! When I got home I took a short nap and then we were ready to partyyyy! There was a quick dinner in the "Outerback" and then we went to the club "Omnia", which had an entrance fee of 40 USD. Couldn't it be worse? Wrong thought! We ordered a Gin & Tonic on site and it cost 50 USD per drink!!! The USD/EUR exchange rate is currently around 1 to 1, so ONE DRINK cost us 50 EURO. Thank God the rest of the drinks of the evening were free as we were lucky enough that a brand had a marketing campaign and the evening accordingly over mixed vodka in cans. Despite all that: expensive evening. BUT: in my opinion it was absolutely worth it. Not only because it was my 24th birthday, but also because I've never seen a club like this. It was really super fancy, I would pay the entrance fee again, but probably not the drink! The next morning was a little more strenuous due to the possible hangover haha, which is why the day was generally a little slower. But we drove to the Las Vegas sign and then back to the strip before heading back to the airport. We also saw the Super Bowl stadium from the Uber, which looked really cool! But the city was also very flooded due to the Super Bowl, so I was glad we didn't stay on Sunday too. On Sunday we went straight from the airport to the university because we were still doing some group work and then in the evening we watched the Super Bowl at a public viewing event. So to sum up: Vegas, I'm in love!
