Wli Wasserfall

After a rather uncomfortable night, we started our hike to the Wli Waterfall on Saturday at around 9 o'clock. With a guide, we climbed the entire mountain for 2 hours. It was quite steep, the path was quite narrow, and it was also really hot. It was more climbing than hiking. You had to be careful not to fall down the left slope. Many of us reached our limits - physically as well as mentally. However, it was worth it! The upper waterfall was amazing! In the catchment basin, we could wash off our sweat and take a cool bath. Then we went back down the same way, to the lower waterfall and then all the way down. At 2 o'clock, we arrived back in the village tired but happy.

After lunch, we continued directly towards Ho, where we would spend the night in a village. I swore never to ride a motorcycle in Ghana, but there we were, three of us on one: me squeezed between two men (the driver and Leo, a guy from England). Well, at least I was getting a proper hug again after 3 weeks!😂🙈

When we arrived, we had dinner first, and then the eldest and thus leader of the village told us stories. At the end of the evening, the locals gave us a drumming, singing, and dancing performance, which was a lot of fun. We even had to learn the African dance steps and dance along. Exhausted, all we wished for was a shower. However, there was only a "bucket-shower" (a canister full of dirty water and you use buckets to pour it over yourself). Disgusting... So we decided to use our drinking water to at least give ourselves a little wash. Each of us had 2x500ml available - try it, it's not a lot! Adventurous😂

Here in the east, there are a lot more insects than in Accra. I saw a praying mantis live for the first time! There are also giant moths here, almost 10cm in size. Luckily, we have the guys with us to save us!😅 I'm getting used to a lot of things here and most things don't bother me anymore, but I still can't deal with insects that come too close to me very well...
