And how much is it?

게시됨: 05.05.2024

The short answer is: an average of 13,000 euros. That's a lot of money! Or maybe not so much when you consider how much a year in Germany costs...?

How does the cost put together?

The total is based on experience and calculations by ICJA and is determined, among other things, by the following items:

  • Costs incurred by the sending and receiving organisation for e.g. organisation, advice, educational support, administration, training
  • Flight and transport costs
  • Insurance
  • Costs in the host country (including food and accommodation)
  • Seminar costs
  • Pocket money (100 euros per month)

I also expect additional costs for

  • visa
  • Buying a car (there is hardly any public transport in New Zealand, so buying a car is recommended)
  • Car insurance and petrol money
  • Products of daily use
  • Expenses for admissions, excursions and local travel

Overall, New Zealand is one of the countries with a high cost of living.

How are the costs covered?

The IJFD receives financial support from the state. Unfortunately, this support is not enough to cover the total costs of the volunteer service. In order to be able to organize volunteer services, ICJA relies on the volunteers themselves to close the funding gap between state support and total costs by setting up a support group. The amount currently raised by the New Zealand volunteers is 4,600 euros. This amount does not include flight and transport costs, visas, costs for local travel, etc. and must be paid additionally by the volunteers.

I would be very happy if YOU would become part of my support group!

Here's how it works: I would be delighted if you would transfer an amount of your choice to the following account by June 15, 2024. Every cent counts for me :). Since ICJA is recognized as a non-profit organization, every donation can be claimed as a tax deduction.

Name : ICJA Volunteer Exchange eV
Purpose : Donation 248-1978, first name, last name / company of the donating person, full address (if a donation receipt is required)

BIC : GENODED1DKD

For data protection reasons, the ICJA is not permitted to disclose any information about the amount of your donation.

Important : Donations are used exclusively to cover costs. The ICJA is a non-profit organization and is therefore not allowed to operate for profit.

Good to know: A donation receipt only needs to be submitted if requested by the tax office. In addition, the receipt is only required for amounts of 300 euros or more, as otherwise the tax office will be satisfied with proof via a bank statement. If you need a receipt, you can contact the ICJA by email. You can find further information here https://www.icja.de/content/icja/ueber-uns/spenden-sie-jetzt (section Donation confirmation).

A thousand thanks to all dear supporters – thanks to you, my dream comes true.
