Oh man... why do I always plan so much and then never manage to implement it? When packing my suitcase, it was very important to take as many sports clothes as possible, because I would obviously go jogging every other morning in Bali. I also decided to write a blog for my friends, colleagues, and family, so that everyone is always up to date. I still haven't taken out my running shoes from the suitcase. But at least - I finally start with the blog after a little more than three weeks in Bali.
Where should I start? Probably from the beginning. I came to Bali together with my cousin Charley and our mutual friend Anka. I came to study and Charley and Anka, well, to enjoy life :). I would actually say that we needed the entire last three weeks to really arrive. But now it's time - we're here. Really. With heart and soul.
In the last few days, I have realized that I don't actually want to write this blog just for everyone else, but that I myself have a great need to get rid of some things. Just write everything down. Some experiences are really beautiful and you want to share them. Some are not so beautiful and you want to somehow free yourself from them.
So, I hope I can give you a good impression of our life in Bali and give you a little feeling of being there yourself. Have fun :)!
Regarding the last few weeks, I want to keep it short so as not to bore anyone. We arrived in Bali on 24.03.17 after a 28-hour journey. Exhausted, of course. Our first accommodation was great and we also spent Nyepi, the day of silence, there. Nyepi is one of the most important holidays in Bali. On this day, speaking and using light/electricity is not allowed - in theory. This is done here very strictly, even the airport is shut down on Nyepi. The day was very relaxed and I have never seen such a starry sky as on that night when the whole Bali was dark.
