Badewanne

게시됨: 07.08.2023

Actually, I wanted to escape the rain in Wales and took the train to Bath for that reason. Both only worked halfway (the flat joke and escaping the rain).

Bath is a charming city. The flair reminded me of the south of France. The old buildings have character and the new ones fit in well. And there are a bunch of nice shops: art, second hand, clothing. In such a big city there are also chains (4x Kafee-Nero alone in the city center), but you don't have to go there...

Of course, Bath is dominated by water. First the Avon (yes, the same one that flows through Stratford). Then the Roman baths (almost £30 admission, I didn't go in) and a modern spa.

I found the many rows of houses in round and curved shapes remarkable: the architects in the 18th century apparently had a lot of fun with that (and you probably wouldn't find that in the south of France). Some of these rows of houses are super chic, some pretty run-down.

In the evening I went to a concert of a Beatles revival band. Most of the guests were as old as me. Hm... cool concert. And once again it turned out that you can decide (or maybe have to?) whether you want to enjoy an evening like this or not: my table neighbors handled it differently 😊😕.

In any case, Bath has a vibrant nightlife and a special flair in the dark!
