'I don't need that, it's a waste of money!', was my (Iris) first reaction at home in Hillerse when 'my men' told me that they absolutely wanted to go to Marina Bay Sans Hotel in Singapore.
'Okay, you can sleep in a tent, we'll do it, it's a once in a lifetime experience!', was their dry comment.
Then I decided against the tent ;-)
I'm glad that Günter & I listened to our 'reward consultant' Moritz: It's really worth every penny, amazing!
Just a few facts and figures:
***** star hotel, 219 meters high, three 55-story hotel towers carry a 340 meter long roof garden in the shape of a ship at a height of 191 meters, with a 146 meter long infinity pool. Grandiose architecture, architect: Harvard Professor Moshe Safdie. Approved by various feng shui masters. Construction costs around 4.6 billion euros.
Located on a peninsula, overlooking Marina Bay, the Singapore River, the grand skyline with the Gardens by the Bay, Art Museum, all lit up at night.
More later and photos.
Still need to pack, have breakfast, and check out at 11:00 am (unfortunately), then off to Darwin!
