Scotland in a hurry: From Haydock to Glasgow to the lovebirds in Gretna Green - off to new adventures in Edinburgh.

A sunny “hello” from travel adventure land! Our trip began with a mixture of HolidayInn feeling and the exciting start in Haydock - there was anticipation and our suitcases were packed.

Our first stop took us to picturesque Lake Windermere, where the views were so breathtaking that even the geese on the shore were amazed. After we took a few selfies with the feathery residents, we continued.

Next stop: Gretna Green, the mecca for impatient English lovebirds. Even at the age of 16, they were keen to tie the knot in Scotland – ah, the youth of today.

And then there was Glasgow, our secret date for an hour. Faster than a tea kettle could make a whistle, we darted through the streets to capture a touch of Glasgow charm. A short detour to a pub rounded off the Scottish experience - if short, then at least worthy.

Finally we reached our current hotel, where the beds were calling and the dreams of Edinburgh were already beckoning us. The journey continues tomorrow and we can't wait to experience the history of the ancient stones in Edinburgh. Until then: Scotland, you have captivated us and we can't wait to see what's to come.
