29.08.24 After Shap

After the very wet and mentally challenging days, Annchen and I were in need of a rest day. However, it didn't quite turn out that way. We had arranged for a taxi to take us to Shap, but the driver convinced us to let us out an hour before Shap. Then the sun shone, we felt good, and we walked another 2 hours along the C2C beside a beautiful lake. However, the hour of the taxi driver turned out to be more like two, so we ended up covering a good distance today. I have learned that kilometer markers don't really help in this case, because normally you don't walk on a path, but beside the path to avoid puddles, across marshy meadows, etc. But that's not meant to sound negative. Today was a super beautiful day, and we were finally able to enjoy the magical landscape.
